Permanent Make-up, a discipline more and more popular, is of great interest for many young women, beauty specialists or not, who see the interest of a new interesting career or an addition to one already existing.

I will tell you frankly that in this trade, there are more called than elected, it is to say that welling is not enough, you need ability.

You need to have certain talents and abilities, on top of many other qualities to succeed in this trade, it is the reason why it is necessary to be qualified with these requirements before investing, because there is an investment of time and money, and you must be sure that you do not work in vain.

What does it take, will you ask me ? 

Ø      First, facility in drawing.  If you have a precise and sure hand, here is a first step.

Ø      If you have patience and tenacity, seriousness, professionalism, sense of responsibilities and respect of your clients’ face and also their health.

Ø      Calmness and discipline, facility to communicate, knowing how to listen, this is important.

Ø      If you don’t smoke and don’t drink, it is a plus for you.  Cleanliness is of first importance.

Ø      Passion for make-up, the sincere desire to make women more beautiful. And do everything to get there.

Ø      Perseverance :  do not expect to work perfectly after only one session of formation because you need many months of practice before you can really master this art.

Your formation, only, one week or two, will not be enough to become an expert; you will need assistance and support from your teacher for a long period.  You can not remember in 9 or 10 days what I took 20 years to learn, but with the possibility of coming back to practice a notion not quite understand or with the possibility of helping you by telephone at all time with the assurance that a competent person supports you with interest.  All this encourages continuing in this profession or trade.

It exists, doesn’t it seem, insurances to protect yourself from future mistakes that you could commit on your clients.  Unfortunately, these insurances do not cover many things and are very expensive considering the protection.  You have to be careful because certain companies cover semi-permanent make-up and not permanent make-up.  These companies ask around 400$ but do not cover the eyes.  I will recommend to you a company that will convince me of its integrity, and I am working at it right now.  Soon, I will be able to inform you adequately on your insurances.

I am studying thoroughly the affair.  While waiting, I am my students’ insurance… yes.  At the beginning, I am the only valid insurance for my students.  During the first months of their practice.  I will repair small mistakes myself if this is necessary (my students don’t make big errors) all this with the student, so that she understands where the error was committed and so get to correct it, or avoid to do it again in the future.

This follow-up will continue during 3 or 4 months or a bit longer if needed.  For one year, I will be attentive to all my students’ problems and questions if necessary.

It is the reason why you will understand I give only 3 or 4 sessions of formation a year.  It is very demanding: you have to be available and properly fulfill all the promises made at first.

There might be moments of discouragement or doubts, of questioning and it is my duty to put you back on the track.  It is essential for the pursuit and the success of you new career.

COSTS

You have to count between 3 000$ and 3 500$ for the course and 1 200$ (at home) for a beginner’s kit.  That includes the machine, the basic pigments, the needles and all necessary accessories for your 15 first clients.  However, the pigments will last longer.

I am the best guide for my students so that they buy only useful things because I do not sell any products.  I have no interest in their spending.  I place their first order with them to avoid useless expenses.

Alter one meeting where I evaluate their capacities and aptitudes, I reserve a place at a specific date and ask them for an account of 500$ dated one month or two months ahead of time to confirm their attendance.

I give the course at home in a private studio so we don’t have to pay for a hall location.  My students appreciate it because they feel at ease and comfortable with all the facilities they encounter.

The 3 first days of courses are (of preference) consecutive when possible.  As for the days of practice, generally it is on Monday for a period of 4 weeks or more.  Here may be exception to accommodate everybody.  It happens that certain students need more than one day or two of practice, these 2 days will be free.  But if it would happen that they want one day or two days more, I would ask a reasonable price per day but it is extremely rare.

I strive to do all in my power to start my students on the right foot and continue to support them.

Knowing all this, you can now evaluate if you are ready for this profession and if you feel able to embrace it.  It is evident that I can not teach all of you at the same time, but shop seriously and after what I have explained to you, I hope that it will help you to make the good choice and understand better what you need for lessons and as teacher.  By the way, it is better not to leave the country nor the province because it complicates many things that I will explain to you later.  One more thing, I try to take as students one technician per region (city) to avoid competition between them.  I prefer having them in good terms, the ones with the others.  I am presently refreshing my web site and I will write down the names, numbers of reference and city of my students.
